…SCREENS GOVERNOR’S NOMINEES FOR OFFICE OF STATE, LOCAL GOVT. AUDITOR-GENERAL
Lagos State House of Assembly has passed the Lagos State Legislative and Research Institute Bill during Plenary on Thursday.
It would be recalled that the Bill which is a Private Member Bill, sponsored by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. (Dr.) Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa aims at building legislative capacity and sharing of knowledge as well as promoting efficient and effective legislative activities in the State.
Thereafter, the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Wasiu Eshinlokun-Sanni who presided over the plenary, after a voice vote, directed the Acting Clerk of the House, Mr. Olalekan Onafeko to send a clean copy to the Governor for his assent.
In another development, Members of the House screened Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu’s nominees; Mr. Sikiru Adeniyi Salami for the position of Permanent Secretary, State Auditor-General and Mr. Obafemi Musa Ogunlana for the position of the Permanent Secretary, Auditor-General, Unified Local Government Service in the State. They are yet to be confirmed.
