The Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists have kidnapped a director of a library and six others in Borno state. The leader of the Fulani Community in Askira, Bello Ndottiwa was also abducted Sunday near Buratai town, while travelling to Askira along Damaturu/Biu road. Confirming the incident yesterday in a video made available to The Guardian yesterday, the Borno State Director of Library, Abubakar Ahmed Askira said: “I was kidnapped on the 6th of November, 2021.” An anonymous security consultant, also said: “As a Security Consultant with extensive experience in this area, I believe it is time for the military to prioritize the protection of our highways.
“This kidnapping of motorists and commuters is intolerable, and it is the latest in a long line of abductions.” He disclosed that the terrorists’ purpose is to raise money for their activities by demanding ransom from the families of abductees. The consultant insisted that the families should not pay any ransom to the kidnappers; warned that the people should stay away from roads; until the Army clear them for motorists. Other people that were abducted yesterday include an NYSC member, Usman Musa Abubakar, a member of the Road Safety Corps, Yusuf Nauru and a banker, Mohammed Askira, Zakariya Kime, a staff of the UNICEF and a contract staff of the Nigerian Defense Academy (NDA), Imrana Mohammed Askira.
