Buni Tasks Bank On Corporate Social Responsibilities

Date:

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state, has tasked the United Bank for Africa (UBA) to redeem corporate social responsibility (CSR) projects and programmes. According to him, the implementation of CSR could restore the lost means of livelihoods of the people. Buni gave the task Thursday; while receiving UBA’s Deputy Managing Director, Liadi Ayoku at the Government House, Damaturu.

“As a business partner patronized by the state government, you should reciprocate the gesture by responding to the needs of our people,” he said; noting that many households were affected in the 12-year Boko Haram insurgency that required restorations of their livelihoods. Buni, who was represented by the Commissioner for Finance, Musa Mustapha, assured Ayoku that the state government will continue to conduct transparent business with all partners in banking and industrial sectors of the economy. While commending Mustapha’s commitments to develop the state, Ayoku said: “Our organisation is determined to have a fruitful business partnership with the state government.” He assured that the bank would develop and continue to improve on the CSR as demanded by the Governor.
