The Yobe State Government has vowed to improve the radio signals of State’s Broadcasting Corporation (YBC) to reach and cover entire state. The increased coverage radio signals, are part of the post insurgency drive to enlighten, educate and entertain the people on the importance of peaceful coexistence. The expanded radio signals was disclosed Tuesday in Damaturu by the Commissioner of Information, Abdullahi Bego at a ministerial briefing to mark second anniversary of Governor Mai Mala Buni.
According to him, the improved radio signals will cover the entire state, including the border communities of Geidam, Machina, Yunusari and Yusufari with Niger. The Ministerial briefing tagged: “Promoting Accountability and Good Governance,” is for the Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to show case their scorecards of performances in health, education, infrastructural facilities and water supply sectors. Bego noted that the radio signal strength currently terminates at Dapchi, the council headquarters of Bursari. He said the signals be improved to reach northern part of the state, including Machina, Nguru, Karasuwa, Yunusari, Yusufari and Geidam Local Government Areas. He added Buni has already approved the procurement of all the necessary equipment to boost radio signals. “They will be installed by the end of this year,” he said, while thanking the Governor for the continued support and cooperation to complete the radio project to the people.
