The Borno State Government has confirmed the receipt of 75,510 doses of the coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccines. While announcing the delivery of vaccines Tuesday night in Maiduguri at a news conference, the Deputy Governor, Usman Kadafur disclosed: “We’ll immediately meet to decide when to commence the vaccination of front line health workers and residents of Borno.” Kadafur, who is also the Chairman of the state Task Force on COVID-19, said the task force would swap into action to implement the COVID-19 vaccination exercise to members of the public. “When the immediate plan for the vaccination exercise is ready, we will unveil it to you,” he said. Kadafur and other members of the task force were at the Maiduguri Airport yesterday to receive the doses of vaccines by 9pm.
