The University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital (UMTH) has discharged 11 Civilian JTF bomb blast victims; after hospitalizing 16 others for sustained injuries. Seven members of the volunteer fighters including their leader, Bunu were however killed in the road landmine of suspected Boko Haram insurgents at Kayamla in Borno state. While briefing Governor Babagana Zulum on patients’ discharge from hospital yesterday in Maiduguri, the Commissioner of Sports and Empowerment, Sainna Buba disclosed that the remaining four patients are responding to treatments they sustained while patrolling Kayamla community. He said members of the Civilian JTF and hunters, got information on the rustling of dozens of cattle in the Konduga/Kayamla axis last Tuesday. According to him, they rushed to the village, after receiving information on insurgents’ rustling of cattle from the community. “With your directives, your Excellency, the hospital bills for the 16 injured persons had been settled,” he said; added that while the livelihood support, were also delivered to families of the seven killed in the bomb blast. While praying for the quick recovery of four patients, the Governor urged the people to continue to remain resilient until insurgency is ended to restore peace.
