Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno state, has returned 1,200 Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to Ngoshe town, a border community with Cameroon. The IDP returnees were taking refuge for over six years in Maiduguri and Pulka camps. While distributing food items and N24 million Tuesday to returnees, he said: “Each of the IDPs, is to get a bag of rice and beans, five litres of cooking oil,” noting that their return was made possible after getting military clearance. According to him, the food items and financial support were to support IDPs fully resettled before the rainy season sets in. At the Warabe community in Gwoza council, he said that the ongoing 350 houses are to be completed before the end of this year; for returnees’ occupation by January next year. He said that the Pulka mega secondary school will also be completed for school children to resume classes, six years after leaving school.
