Abubakar Launches ASO To Ensure Equity, Inclusive Development Of Nation

Date:

The former Vice President, Abubakar Atiku; has launched the Atiku Support Organisation (ASO) to improve good governance and leadership. According to him, the new organisation; will also ensure equity, fairness and inclusiveness in the development process of the nation. While launching ASO yesterday in Abuja, Alhaji Abubakar Kabir Babawo disclosed that the support organisation will canvas for votes to promote the political agenda of Atiku. “The support organisation will promote the political agenda of Atiku, as he prepares to launch the 2023 presidential election campaigns across the country,” said Babawo. During the inauguration of members of ASO, the Wazirin Adamawa said: “My desire for every Nigerian was to have unhindered access to basic needs of life. According to him, the basic needs include education, healthcare, portable water; as well as the security of people’s lives and property. While lamenting insecurity, he said: “The protection of people’s lives and property has continued to be elusive under the Buhari led administration of APC.” Borno state Coordinator of ASO, Mohammed Abdallah in an acceptance speech yesterday in Maiduguri, said: “I support the Atiku 2023 Oraganisation, because of the democratic credentials of the former vice president.” He maintained that Abubakar is a true democrat, as he fought the third term agenda of former President Olusegun Obasanjo. “Atiku fought against the tenure elongation during Obasanjo’s second term in office,” he said, noting that he had been a frontline campaigner of restructuring. Continued; he added: “He has the political will and determination to reposition this country for the better. “These are some of the characters that are lacking in most of our current leaders.” This was why he said Borno has been on the spotlight for the wrong reasons under the alleged misrule of the APC government. According to him, the Atiku support organization will seek to liberate the northeastern state from the shackles of bad governance. He said the insurgency ravaging the state is a product of many years of misrule and neglect. He also alleged that; “Leaders have refused to provide the basic infrastructures that would have addressed an upsurge of terrorism even before it manifested in 2009,” noting that the ongoing terrorism was as result of previous bad governance in the state.
