Six soldiers, Civilian JTF killed in B’Haram abush in Borno

The Boko Haram and Islamic State Province of West Africa (ISWAP)
terrorists; have killed seven soldiers and a Civilian JTF in an ambush
along Maiduguri/Monguno road.
The ambush occurred by 4pm Sunday at Pilimari village of Nganzai
council of Borno state, while troops were on patrol of Gajiram/Monguno
axis.
There were several attacks and kidnappings along Maiduguri/Monguno
road that warranted the patrol of axis in last two years.
Confirming the incident Monday in Maiduguri, the state capital,
Civilian JTF leader. Bukar Auno, who was in military patrol convoy
said: “We were travelling along the Monguno road near Gajiram, the
insurgents bust from bush and started firing at us.
“We had to take cover, with the loss of our member and five soldiers.”
He said that the exchange of fire lasted for about an hour, before the
terrorists high jacked three patrol vehicles of Civilian JTF.
On ambush’s casualties, he said: “Twelve of our members were wounded,
including 12 solidiers; while providing cover for our soldiers at the
scene of terrorists’ attacks.”
He said the injured soldiers, had been evacuated to a military
hospital for treatment at Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri.
