Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, has clinched the best Youths
Friendly Governor’s Award (YFGA) for youths’ empowerment and
development of education.
According to YFGA, the award is for Buni’s contributions to youths’
engagement in governance, leadership and nation building.
Presenting the award Saturday, at the Nigeria National Merit Award
House, Abuja, President of YFGA, Yerima Shettima disclosed that the
Governor merited the award for “purposeful leadership of engaging
youths build a nation.”
Buni, who was represented by Commissioner for Youth, Sports, Social
and Community Development, Goni Lawan thanked the youths for
recognizing his contributions towards youths development and
empowerment in 17 Local Government Areas of state.
He said that investments in human capital, could overcome challenges
of unemployment, poverty and youths’ restiveness.
He also commended the youths for not participating in last month’s
#EndSARS protests in the country.
