The South West APC UK caucus has congratulated the Ondo State Governor Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on his re-election for a second term in office.
In the fiercely contested gubernatorial election at the weekend in Ondo state, Nigeria, Arakunrin Akeredolu snatched victory with a wide margin over his PDP and ZNLP rivals.
In a statement issued by the Secretary of the UK South West APC caucus, Mr Wole Olagunju, he said, the chairman, Hon Kenny Ojutalayo, expressed an overwhelming congratulatory message to the incumbent Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on his re-election victory for another term of four years.
In the statement, Hon Ojutalayo noted that the resolve of the good people of Ondo State to vote massively to return Governor Akeredolu for another four years is a testimony of a successful first term of four years in office and a demonstration of their trust that the governor will deliver on his promises in his second term in office.
According to the Chairman, “if there were no projects, it would have been difficult to manufacture lies to buttress non- performance. In the case of Aketi, he had worked hard to secure his victory for second term and made it difficult for rival parties to snatch victory”.
He said Arakunrin has transformed Ondo State to an industrial hub within South Western Nigeria in the areas of education, economy, and infrastructure development.
“We are happy that Ondo State voters have paid you back by giving you their confidence to further the development of their state for another term of four years” Ojutalayo said.
The chairman extended his goodwill message to all APC leaders in Nigeria and in the diaspora, saying that the history was nothing but a collective efforts across the board.
In a similar development, the Osun State APC UK Chairman Mr. Iyiola Awofidipe, two-term Osun State House of Assembly, Honourable Femi Fafiyebi, and an APC UK leader, Professor Adebisi Adewole, in a joint statement, congratulated Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu on his well deserved victory over his PDP counterpart Mr Eyitayo Jegede and other rivals.
The trio saluted the good spirit with which governor Akeredolu fought the election and his humility towards his rivals in his acceptance address, when he described his re-election as a no victor, no vanquished race, describing his opponents as having the quality that Ondo state could harness for its true development.
They commended Arakunrin Akeredolu for his demonstration of outstanding spirit of unity and togetherness, making it clear that he had been voted as the governor of Ondo State, not just an APC governor.
