CP VISITS SCENE OF INFERNO AT INEC, HEADQUARTERS, ALAGBAKA, AKURE

The Ondo State Commissioner of Police, CP Salami Amidu Bolaji has described the fire incidence which occurred on September 9, 2020 at about 1930hrs at the INEC Headquarters, Alagbaka, Akure, Ondo State as an unfortunate occurrence.

CP Bolaji made the remark as he visited the scene of the inferno to express his saddened heart at the destruction of a two container load of INEC card readers and other stationeries.

He however said, Ondo State Police Command in conjunction with INEC management will collaborate with Ondo State Fire Service in the investigation of the cause of the fire outbreak.

CP Salami who said though it was regrettable to see this happened close to the date of the governorship election in the State, promised all law abiding citizens of the State never to entertain any fear as his Command is fully prepared to give the State a kind of Police protection never seen in Ondo State.

He used his visit to the scene of the fire outbreak to warn those harboring any form of crime in them during this period of election and electioneering campaigns to jettison such ideas, so that the State can experience a free, fair and credible election come October 10, 2020; or be ready to sit tight at any Correctional Service detention camps in the State, while the good people of Ondo State go about their businesses as well as looking forward to a credible governorship election.
