Buni Pledges To Accord Priority To Education, Health Sectors Rebuild Yobe

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state; has pledged to accord priority to education, health, agriculture, industrial and environment sector overcome challenges of rebuilding the state. According to him, the rebuilding could provide a platform for the socioeconomic growth and development processes. Buni made the pledges Friday in his Sallah message to mark Eid-el-Kabir celebration at Government House, Damaturu. Other top government officials that attend Eid-el-Kabir prayers; include Acting All Progressive Congress (APC) Chairman, State House of Assembly Speaker, Ahmed Mirwa and Buni’s Deputy, Idi Barde along with other government officials at Central Mosque, Damaturu. Chief Imam of the Yobe Mosque, Huztaz Hudu Mohammed led the Muslims at the praying ground with two Raka’at prayers. In Buni’s Sallah message, he said: “Citizens of the state are to embrace values of Islam,” noting that they comprise faith, family and compassion to their neighbours. He also called on the people not to forget to pray for the peace of the state and the northeast region. According to him, the region has been ravaged for over a decade by Boko Haram terrorists. Continued; “In times like this, we all reflect on the things that are important and dear to us. They include faith, family and the compassion to do the best we can for our neighbours and communities. “These are, indeed, the values at the heart of Islam.” He said while emerging from a decade long terrorism, the state government will ensure good governance and accountability to rebuild destroyed communities in Gujba and Gulani councils. He noted that this will cater for the short and long term needs of victims of Boko Haram insurgency. While overcoming state’s rebuilding challenges, Buni said: “At the core of these dispositions is the vision to usher in sustainable solutions to some of our challenges. “We’re keen in according topmost priorities to the education, environment, health, agricultural, industrial sectors, including the creation of more jobs for unemployed youths.
