Police Ease Vehicle Restriction Movements At Sallah In Yobe

The Yobe State Police Command; has yesterday eased restrictions of
vehicles to ensure a ‘hitch-free and safe’ Eid-el-Kabir celebration
among Muslims across the state.
The lift of ban on vehicles’ restrictions was eased yesterday, since
the decade long Boko Haram insurgency claimed over 36,000 lives in
Northeast.
Spokesman of Command, ASP Abdulkarim Dungus in a statement Friday
disclosed that; “Yobeans are enjoined to use the occasion to pray for
the continued peace, security, stability and economic development of
the state.”
He said the entire citizens, should also adhere to coronavirus
(COVID-19) protocols to prevent further spread of the virus; during
Sallah celebration.
According to him, adequate measures have been emplaced to provide
security at all praying grounds, mosques and other places of public
gathering.
“We’ve provided security, before, during and after the Sallah
celebrations,” he assured, while the people should also provide useful
information on suspicious persons, vehicles and other objects to the
Police from prompt action.
Governor Mai Mala Buni also urged the people to exhibit good
neibourliness through love, peaceful coexistence and generosity in the
spirit of Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
His Spokesman, Mamman Mohammed in a statement Friday in Damaturu,
said: “I express my warm greetings and best wishes to the people of
Yobe state, Nigerians and the entire Muslim faithful to celebrate this
great Sallah day.”
He said the occasion inculcates the spirit of good neighbourliness,
love, honesty, generosity, discipline and above all the fear God in
all decisions and actions.
“We should incline to mutual understanding, justice and kindness to
followers of other religions for the attainment of a stronger and
united country,” he said, noting that government will remain committed
in providing the dividends of democracy for socioeconomic development.
