The Nigerian Army, 7 Division; has rendered Borno state community with
medical outreach and distribution of coronavirus (COVID-19)
palliatives.
The targeted 1,200 residents of Ngomari Costain; that have ill-health
challenges, including high blood pressure, diabetes and other
communicable diseases were treated for various ailments.
While distributing palliatives on Saturday in Maiduguri to mark 2020
Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL), the General Officer Commanding
(GOC), 7 Division, Brig-Gen. Abdul Ibrahim disclosed that; “Today’s
medical outreach, is to further cement civil/military relationship, as
troops continue with the counter-insurgency operations.”
“Our joint coordinated operations in the northeast theatre of war, is
not all fighting Boko Haram insurgency alone, but to assist retired
soldiers and vulnerable in communities.”
According to him, over 100 ex-servicemen were treated at the medical
outreach, with referral of 10 patients to a military hospital.
He said that during the “four-hour medical outreach,” a minor surgery
was performed on an appendix patient.
On distributed COVID-19 palliatives, he said that each of targeted
residents; was given a bag of rice, a gallon and tin of cooking oil,
sugar, milk and condiments.
