Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno state; has said that the only
solution to incessant attacks, is to dislodge Boko Haram insurgents by
the military.
According to him, the dislodgements of terrorists; are to be routed on
shores of Lake Chad bordering Nigeria, Chad, Cameroon and Niger.
Zulum made the declarations on Wednesday, while sympathizing with
residents of Faduma Kolomdi Community; over the killings of 81
villagers and abduction of seven others by insurgents Tuesday.
The attacked herding community is 120 kilometres north of Maiduguri,
the state capital.
“I urged the Nigerian military to undertake a final onslaught that
could put an end to incessant attacks on Borno communities,” he said;
adding that the terrorists are on the Lake Chad shores hideouts.
Continued; “The military should undertake a final onslaught in Lake Chad region.
“You should put an end to the incessant attacks on rural communities
that claimed many lives and property in Borno state.
“Doing so will require collaborative regional military efforts to end
decade long Boko Haram insurgency that claimed many lives and property
worth about $9 billion (N3.24 trillion).”
He described the Community massacre; as barbaric and unfortunate.
According to him, last year about the same number of people were
killed at Gajiram, the council headquarters of Nganzai.
He also evacuated five injured persons in his convoy, for treatment at
State’s Specialists Hospital, Maiduguri.
