Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno state; has joined other Muslims for
Eid prayers with strict adherence to coronavirus (COVID-19) preventive
measures.
The Eid-el-Fitr prayers conducted at Ramat Square, Maiduguri Sunday;
were marked along with Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai
Al-Amin El-Kanemi to end Ramadan.
At the Eid praying ground yesterday, Imam Idaini of Borno, Shettima
Mamman Saleh, who led the prayers was shortened to adhere to social
distancing and wear of face masks against COVID-19 pandemic.
The square was also full to capacity with tens of thousands of Muslims
from various parts of the Maiduguri metropolis.
“I called on the Muslims to continue to pray to end the coronavirus
pandemic that claimed over dozen lives in Borno.” he said.
Saleh during his Eid-el-Fitr sermons also urged the Muslim Ummah to
imbibe the teachings learnt during the Ramadan fast.
At end of eid prayers, Zulum at Government House urged citizens to
sustain prayers against the pandemic and return of peace.
The Sallah message delivered by his Chief of Staff, Dr. Babagana
Wakil, also congratulated Muslims for successful completion of
Ramadan.
