Zulum Sought Forgiveness Over Borno Measures To Prevent COVID-19

Borno State Governor, Prof. Babagana Zulum has sought for forgiveness
over the adopted measures to prevent outbreak and spread of COVID-19.
Zulum since last Tuesday; closed three entry points into Maiduguri
metropolis with the public sale of hoarded petroleum products at
official pump price of N125 a litres.
He also limited the number of passengers in each tricycles, cars and
buses to only two, three and 10 since the lock down order.
The Governor in a State-wide Radio and Television broadcast Thursday
at Government House, Maiduguri, he said: “I have remained focused
since my assumption of office on may solemn pledge to ensure peace and
security in the state. This is as well to re-position the state on the
path of development.
“The task envisaged is herculean and enormous requiring sacrifices,
commitment and resilience.
“We’re making frantic efforts to resettle Internally Displaced Persons
(IDPs) and provide mechanism for their independent means of
livelihoods.
While speaking on forgiveness on adopted measures prevents COVID-19,
he said: “I acknowledge with thanks those well spirited individuals
who spoke of my occasional outburst and other shortcomings in good
faith.

“I ensure that the good advice are heeded, so as to ensure good
governance and better quality of life for our people.”
Continued: “While I hold no grudge against anyone, I sincerely seek
your forgiveness for the shortcomings during the global COVID-19
crisis.
He said the state government is a principally people-oriented with
broad based participation.
“Our doors a open for consultations and worthwhile advices to take our
state to the next level,” he said, while thanking everybody for the
concern shown for his life personally.
According to him, we will do all it takes to ensure better quality of
life to the people and prosperity of state.
