Zulum Revokes C of Os Of Borno Fuel Stations

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno state has; revoked Certificates of
Occupancy (C of Os) of 10 fuel stations for alleged dispensing of fuel
against Government regulations.
Secretary to State Government, Alhaji Usman Jidda Shuwa in a statement
Thursday in Maiduguri, disclosed that fuel markers engaged in economic
sabotage by hoarding petroleum products and sell above official pump
prices of N125 a litre.
According to him, the actions of fuel marketers and operators are
condemnable for taking advantage of COVID-19 global pandemic.
While lamenting economic sabotage, he said: “The fuel marketers have
already created untold hardships on members of the general public,”
He said 10 fuel stations, were alleged to have committed the offence
by hoarding and diverting petroleum products, since the COVID-19 lock
down.
He listed the affected stations, to include Tafida Bafari, Mabzu
Idris, Oil Link, Total, A. A Rano, Nam Nam.
While others; include Kai Masha Allahu, Alhaji Bukar Kolo, Gnile and
Kabs Merchan Limite along Damboa road.
The Governor also directed the temporary withdrawals of C of Os of
affected fuel stations.
“The process of revocation of same, is in line with provisions of the
Land Use Act and the powers vested in him by same Act,” he said.
Zulum also warned other fuel filling stations, as he will not hesitate
to take all necessary measures within the law.
