Yobe Extends Border Closure With Borno For 14 days

The Yobe State Government has yesterday extended the closure of
borders with Borno state to 14 days to prevent COVID-19 virus from
spreading across the state.
Director General Press and Media Affairs to Governor Mai Mala Buni;
Alhaji Mohammed Mamman in a statement Sunday in Damaturu, disclosed
that government has placed a restriction order; on movements of
persons and vehicles along Maiduguri road.
According to him, the restriction order takes effect from Sunday,
April 19, 2020 at the Red Bricks Housing Estate, Damaturu to Warsala
border village of Borno state.
He explained that the border closure, which will last for 14 days, is
being enforced between the hours of 4pm and 7am daily.
Mamman therefore; urged members of the public to ply the
Damaturu-Warsala road from 7am to 3pm daily, while it remains closed
from 4pm to 7am, before revising the movements order.
He also warned that; “Parking of vehicles along Maiduguri road within
the restricted hours is also prohibited,” adding that the people
should cooperate with border closure and vehicle restriction order.
