Theatre Commander Seeks Synergy, Cooperation to end Boko Haram terrorism

Maj-Gen. Farouk Yahaya has solicited for ‘synergy and cooperation’ of
components of Theatre of war to end Boko Harm insurgency.
Yahaya sought synergy Friday at the Military Command and Control
Centre, Maiduguri, while taking over from the outgoing Theatre
Commander, Maj-Gen. Olusegun Adeniyi.
He said the synergy and cooperation of theatre components and their
troops could successfully end Boko Haram insurgency that has already
claimed many lives and property.
He further disclosed that the successful end to war; will also restore
peace and unity in insurgency affected states of Borno, Adamawa and
Yobe states.
“All hands must be on deck to ensure a united front against the Boko
Haram terrorists,” he declared while addressing troops at the Theatre
Command.
Yahaya said that he will continue the war against Boko haram
terrorists from where his predecessor stopped in the Lake Chad region
and Sambisa Forest.
While pleading to components of Theatre, he said: “I will carry on
with the war against the Boko Haram terrorists.
“I want the support of all Components of the Theatre- the Maritime,
the Air component and other security agencies, including the police.”
The ex-Theater commander, General Adeniyi had showered encomium of the
new commander.
He said that he’s leaving behind a highly motivated officers and
soldiers to continue the war against Boko Haram insurgents. .
“I have known General Yahaya for over 30 years, and I know that he is
more that capable to win the war against the Boko Haram terrorists,”
he said Adeniyi while handing over to Yahaya at the weekend.
Adeniyi was replaced shortly after a supposed army secret video went
viral. But the General Adeniyi had said in the video that he and other
top ranking Army officers did not flee from the front lines of Sambisa
Forest.
