Oyigbo LGA Residents celebrate Governor Wike as they receive foodstuffs

The people of Oyigbo Local Government Area of Rivers State on Monday celebrated Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike for extending foodstuffs to them.

Leaders from the 10 wards of Oyigbo Local Government Area thanked Governor Wike for ensuring that the palliatives got to them, in order  to cushion the effect of obeying the stay-at-home directive.

Eze Isaac Nwogbo (Ward 1) ,Rev. John C. Imo
(Ward 2),  Eze. Evangelist Obum Akawor
(Ward 3) and  Rev Dr. Saviour Nwoko
(Ward 4) thanked Governor Wike for displaying fatherly love by reaching out to them.

(Ward 8) prayed God to grant the Rivers State Governor the strength to always protect the interest of the State.

Former Local Government Chairman of Oyigbo Local Government Area,  Chief Felix Nwaeke said the people of Oyigbo will continue to support Governor Wike because he leads with a human face.

Chairman of Oyigbo Local Government Area,  Hon Gerald Oforji assured the Rivers State Governor that the foodstuffs will get to the less privileged in the area.

Earlier,  Rivers State Governor,  Nyesom Ezenwo Wike represented by the Chairman of the Rivers State Covid 19 Palliatives Committee,  Ambassador Desmond Akawor directed that the foodstuffs should be shared to all less privileged people in the area.

The Governor said that the ward sharing committee was arranged  to ensure that all sections of the local government are carried along.

He appealed to the people to maintain social distancing and ensure that they obey all Health protocols outlined to check the spread of coronavirus.
