The Chadian Defense Minister, Mahamat Abali Salah, has disclosed that
Operation Boma Wrath “encircled Boko Haram terrorists” into Niger and
Nigeria border areas of Lake Chad Basin.
The military roping of terrorists; was to launch a joint offensive
against the fleeing Boko Haram insurgents, after neutralizing 76
insurgents by Chadian troops at the weekend.
According to Anadolu News Agency report; “As part of Operation Boma
Wrath in Lac Province; 98 Chadian soldiers were killed on March 23,
2020.
“But the fleeing terrorists were encircles; and pushed into Niger and
Nigeria border areas of Lake Chad region.”
Salah on the Chadian national television disclosed that five companies
of soldiers were deployed to Niger and Nigeria with the approval of
two affected countries.
“Our purpose is to clear the area around Lake Chad from terror. We
will continue to share the details of the operation,” he said, adding
that Lac province has been declared a war zone.
While lamenting on incessant attacks, he said that 50 people were
injured, including civilians living on Islands of Lake Chad.
