Yobe Monarch Goes Spiritual Against COVID-19

The Yobe State Chairman of traditional council of chiefs, Dr. Muhammad
Ibn Abali Muhammad Idrissa goes spiritual; by embarking on special
prayers against coronavirus.
Announcing the special prayers Friday at his Potiskum palace, he said:
“We’re calling on all Moslems, Christians and other faiths to resort
to persistent rigorous prayers for God to prevent the deadly virus
infecting our people.
He said the pandemic; has become a global health risks that should be
fought “physically and spiritually” to tame any further spread, as
cases of COVID-19 has shot up from two to 27 in the country.
While lamenting on deadly virus, he said: “It is a threat to our lives
and economy of the entire globe.
“The only way to get out of it; is to submit ourselves to Al-mighty
God; in protecting our lives threatened by the deadly virus.”
He therefore, urged the people to embark on proactive measures against
the spread of the virus.
The measures, according to him, include basic personal hygiene with
improved sanitation among others.
“You should report any suspected illness to the nearest health
facility in your respective communities.” he said.
He also expressed satisfaction with the efforts of Yobe State
government by providing an isolation and Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at
the State’s Specialist and Yobe State Teaching Hospitals, Damaturu for
suspected patients.
