Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe state; has assured residents that
government is taking all measures against COVID-19 eventualities.
Already, a coronavirus isolation centre, equipped with medical
equipment has been established last week in Damaturu, the state
capital.
The Director General Press and Media Affairs to the Governor, Mamman
Mohammed Tuesday in Damaturu, stated that; “Governor Buni has directed
the State Ministry of Health to always remain vigilant and proactive
on the global deadly virus.
“Buni also assures government’s full support and cooperation in the
fight against the invisible scourge.”
He said the governor also called on people to report any suspected
case in their communities for prompt medical attention.
He therefore; urged the people to adhere strictly to medical advises
and personal hygiene of constant hand washing and application of
sanitizers.
“The governor directed a sensitization campaign across the state to
raise awareness on deadly virus that claimed over 15, 000 lives in 147
countries,” said Mohammed; adding that as people of faith, they should
avoid unnecessary panic and pray to see them through this trying
moment.
He said that the people should keep faith and pray to God for his
intervention to overcome this global health challenge.
