The Yobe State Government has yesterday; appointed Alhaji Mamman
Mohammed; as the Director General for press and media affairs to the
Governor.
Mohammed; before his appointment, was the State’s Correspondent of
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) for over a decade.
Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Spokesman; Shaibu Abdullahi
in a statement Saturday in Damaturu; said yesterday’s appointment
takes immediate effect.
According to him; “His Excellency the Executive Governor of Yobe State
Hon. Mai Mala Buni has approved the appointment of Mamman Mohammed as
Director General for Press and Media.
“Until his appointment, Mamman Mohammed was the Yobe State
Correspondent of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN). The appointment
takes immediate effect.”
Mohammed is a 1988 graduate of Sociology, from Ahmadu Bello
University (ABU), Zaria in Kaduna state. He had 28 years of journalism
experiences; before rising to clinch the position of Assistant
Editor-In-Chief with the Agency.
He had also been elected as the Chairman of the Yobe State
Correspondents’ Chapel.
Buni’s new Spokesman also holds a certificate in Mass Communication
from the London School of Journalism.
