The Presidential Candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC),Muhammadu Buhari has won 85% of votes cast in Yobe state with hisopponent, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar of People’s Democratic Party (PDP)trailing behind with 8.6% of votes casted.Announcing the election results Monday at Independent NationalElectoral Commission (INEC) office in Damaturu, Prof. AbubakarGundiri, Vice Chancellor Federal University, Wukari, Taraba state; whois the returning officer for the Presidential Election in Yobe; saidPresident Buhari of APC polled a total of 497, 914 of the 586, 137total votes cast, representing 85%.According to him, the PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakarscored 50,763 votes; representing 8.6 per cent of total casted votes.Prof. Gundiri disclosed that Yobe state has a total of 1.37 millionregistered voters. Out of this, he said 601,059 voters were accreditedfor the Saturday Presidential and National Assembly elections.He announced that 559,365 total votes were validated for the election,while 26,772 votes were also rejected by the electoral commission.Below is the breakdown of the results from the 17 Local GovernmentAreas between APC and PDP candidates, President Buhari and Abubakar Atiku.
