The Minister of Defense, Mansur Dan Ali has said that the recommendations of military Commanders of Operation Lafiya Dole be presented to the President for action against insurgency in Northeast. Dan Ali disclosed this Wednesday in Maiduguri, after being briefed by Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai and Military Commanders about ongoing counter-insurgency operations in Borno state. His words: “The briefings are on what to know on happenings in the theater of war and what is expected of the President to do and make sure things work. “I will take home with all the recommendations and briefings that were done by each and every Commander here at the Military Command and Control Centre, Maiduguri.” He said that he is traveling today (Wednesday) to Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), Headquarters in Ndjamena, Chad for a similar briefing on counter-insurgency and terrorism operations in border areas and Lake Chad region. The task force comprises troops drawn from the neighbouring countries of Niger, Chad and Cameroon to fight Boko Haram insurgency in the Lake Chad Basin.
