ARMY NEUTRALISES A DOZEN TERRORISTS, DESTROYS GUN TRUCKS IN YOBE

Troops of 27 Task Force Brigade of Nigerian Army Special Forces; have neutralised dozens of terrorists with the destruction of two gun trucks in Buni/Yadi, Yobe state. The insurgents were killed, after the Brigade base was attacked on Sunday by 4.15pm along Damaturu-Biu road. The Task Force Spokesman, Maj. Nureni Alimi disclosed this Monday in a statement released in Damaturu, the state capital. He said the troops have successfully defeated the terrorists with the recovery arms and ammunition. According to him; “The terrorists came to engage the Brigade around 4.15pm on Sunday, January 20, 2019, daring the troops for over two hours.” He said the gallant troops stood their ground and thoroughly dealt with insurgents. On recovered arms, he said: “Two Gun trucks of the terrorists were collected from them and some of them were neutralized. During the fierce gun battle, several insurgents fled with gunshot wounds. “Cache of Anti-Aircraft ammunitions and bombs of Rocked Propelled Gun were also recovered.” He said that four soldiers sustained injuries and they are receiving treatment. Residents of Buni/Yadi also confirmed yesterday that the soldiers were jubilating over the defeat of terrorists.
