There are credible indications that the National Working Committee (NWC) of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has resolved to obey orders of the Federal High court, with respect to the leadership tussle of the party in Borno state. A source within the committee members on Sunday in Abuja, indicated that the party is set to direct the two factions in the state to line up behind the court recognized faction of the party. The party, according to the source, produced Hon. Mohammed Wakil as the governorship flagbearer of the party during the primary election held on Saturday, September 30, 2018. “Let me assure you the faction recognized by the court is what we are also recognizing. The errors of the past are regretted. We will henceforth relate with the court backed group in compliance with subsisting court order,” said a source within Wadata headquarters of the party. The party is also reported to be encouraging party elders in the state to reconcile Muhammed Imam and Muhammed Wakil so that the party can get set for the general elections. According to the source, we recognize Wakil as the candidate of the party. That is the position the party leadership will announce after the Port Harcourt convention.
