Date:

Jutha Gupah, Maiduguri

The Governorship aspirant in Borno state; Alhaji Gambo Lawan has warned the All Progressive Congress (APC) delegates against massive votes buying; by compromising their “conscience and credibility” to elect candidates at the primaries elections. The over 3,000 delegates, will determine a credible outcome of indirect primaries of electing candidates for various elective positions at the 2019 polls. Gambo warned the delegates on Monday in Maiduguri at a news conference on electing candidates through indirect primaries for governorship and other elective positions. His words: “I’m a democrat and believed in the principles of transparency and accountability to the people, including the delegates that determine outcome of indirect primaries in Borno. “I still insist on adopting the best option A four of the 1990’s. I prefer the indirect primaries, provided the process of electing the delegates, is free, fair and credible.” He said once delegates were elected, they will represent the people without compromising their conscience in electing various candidates at the primaries. On his aspiration, Gambo said: “It is the time to rescue Borno state from insecurity, abject poverty and youth’s unemployment. “I will give a difference of good governance, transparency and accountability to the people, who will elect me become their governor in next year’s election. “I’m also going to form a purposeful and effective government of the people, for the people and by the people.” According to him, his administration will provided infrastructural facilities for water and electricity supplies, including access roads in the 27 Local Government Areas.
