The Yobe State Government has imposed 12-hour restriction vehicular movements across the state to ensure a hitch-free Sallah celebration, slated for today. The vehicular restrictions was reached on Monday, following a security meeting of heads of security, intelligence and law enforcement agents with Governor Ibrahim Gaidam at Government House, Damaturu. In a statement of Director General, Press Affairs to the Governor, Abdullahi Bego said that the vehicular restrictions commences from 10pm yesterday to 10am this morning (Tuesday). According to him, no vehicle will be allowed within or near the Eid prayer grounds, except those on special duties. The statement reads in part: “His Excellency Governor Ibrahim Gaidam wishes the Muslim community a peaceful and memorable Eid-el Kabir festival.”
