PLATEAU KILLINGS: “IT’S TIME FOR CIVIL ACTION”- UNITED ACTION FOR DEMOCRACY

Date:

United action for democracy (UAD) have called upon leaders and stakeholders for an immediate end to the recurring crisis in plateau and benue respectively. In a press statement signed by it’s  general secretary,  The UAD identified socio-economic declines, corruption and nepotism as major cause of this crisis that breeds mass violence. He stated that the  country is now the capital of poverty in the world despite all the stinking wealth in the hands of a few.
There was also a call for good leadership across all levels and the need for Nigerians to  make the right decision ahead of the forthcoming elections in 2019. He said “the Common wealth must be redistributed to effectively bring social justice. There is no way Nigeria can be peaceful with the mass poverty and illiteracy ravaging the country.”
“The Agricultural Crisis in the North requires a government that is pro-people to resolve. The current Buhari regime is not capable to make peace in the country, just like the PDP government before it. We need a revolutionary government that is anti-capitalist and exclusively pro-people to build a country of peace and prosperity.”
Meanwhile, the UAD will be declaring a national day of SOLIDARITY ACTION which will be practical Candle-Light Rallies to demonstrate against violence and war. We will be doing this with all radical groups and pro-people organisations.
