By Rotimi Onadipe

Internet Abuse is a Social Evil whose aims are to steal, kill & destroy a glorious future but this is unknown to many of our youths.
It is no longer news in our society that we have strange & unimaginable cases of immoralities among our youths on daily bases. It is very sad that youths of these days are desperate to become billionaires even while they are still in primary, secondary & tertiary institution & they don’t even care about the consequences.
Internet Abuse simply means “improper use of the internet”. e.g. internet fraud, pornography, impersonation & identity theft etc.
Internet Abuse has no respect for one’s age, status or academic qualification. No matter how highly placed you are, if care is not taken you can be a victim of internet abuse & it will affect almost all aspects of your life.
How to overcome the dangers of Internet Abuse:
1. You must be conscious of the fact that “Internet Abuse is a very strong weapon that is being used to steal, kill & destroy the future of youths in these last days.
2. Create a time table for your internet usage & be disciplined in following the time table.
3. Reduce the number of your telephone lines & social media platforms.
4. Be disciplined. It’s not every site that you must visit.
5. More importantly, visit a counselor on Internet Abuse regularly & share your experience with him/her.
