The Dorcas Oke Hope Alive Initiative (DOHAL) under the auspices of Swords of the Spirits Ministries has donated 100 skills acquisition machines to Borno Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in camps. The grinding and sawing machines are to restore destroyed livelihoods of displaced persons, who are currently taking refuge in five Maiduguri camps. Presenting the empowerment machines on Saturday, after a prayer session for IDPs and the country at Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Maiduguri, Bishop Wale Oke of Sword of the Spirits Ministries, said: “The distribution of these donated empowerment machines was to restore the destroyed livelihoods of displaced persons in camps and host communities.” According to him, nobody should destroyed people’s lives and property in any part of this country. His words: “We should pray for Nigeria, instead of complaining about insecurity to lives and property in the country. “This was why we are here today in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital and epicentre of Boko Haram insurgency that claimed many lives and property. “Besides our prayers for this country for peace to reign, we are here to distribute these livelihood empowerment machines to IDPs, who are still taking refuge in various camps of Maiduguri metropolis.” He said the livelihoods of the IDPs, have already been destroyed by the insurgents for about nine years running. He said as peace is being restored in insurgency affected states of Borno, Adamawa and Yobe, no council area or a girl should be troubled again. Bishop Oke urged President Muhammadu Buhari to use his good office protect people’s lives and property, irrespective of their religious and political inclinations. The Boko Haram insurgents, according to him, should change their hearts and lay down their arms for dialogue with Federal Government. “We should put the past behind and look forward and overcome the challenges of post traumatic troubles and troops’ fatigues in the front lines of Northeast.
