No doubt league football’s most competitive and entertaining competition, the UEFA Champions League has lived up to expectation. The quarter-finals had some very dramatic twists, turns and controversies, some of which are yet to be resolved.
However, Roma FC (Italy), Liverpool FC (England), Bayern Munich FC (Germany) and defending champions Real Madrid (Spain) all made it to the semi-final stage. The draws were held in the earlier parts of Friday 13 April 2018, and no doubts it promises to be a feisty encounter as, Bayern have been drawn alongside defending champions Real Madrid. Real Madrid has won the last five UEFA Champions League meetings against Bayern Munich, the best run for a Spanish team against the Bavarians. Therefore, we know that this is one fixture that would definitely entertain fans. Which means the second semi-final is between Liverpool and Roma who bundled out Barcelona in their quarterfinal dramatic draw.
This is not the first time for Roma meeting with English encounter and they have enjoyed playing them, as when they defeated Chelsea FC in October last year. While, Liverpool on the other hand, have lost just one of their five previous meetings with Roma in all competitions (W2 D2), including a win on penalties in the 1983/84 European Cup final. The semi-finals would be played on April 24th-25th and May 1st-2nd, 2018. Football fans have a lot of entertaining fixtures to behold in the coming weeks.
