“Our hearts are with you”, Secondus to Maiduguri bomb victims.
…….says its time for the military to change strategy.
The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Prince Uche Secondus has condoled with the victims of Sunday night‘s suicide bomb in Belle village, near Maiduguri the state capital.
Prince Secondus said that the senseless bombing that led to loss of over 34 lives and about 90 persons injured on Easter Day is very unfortunate and condemnable.
The PDP boss said in a statement signed by his media spokesperson Ike Abonyi that his heart and that of other well meaning Nigerians are with the families who lost their beloved ones as well as the injured.
Secondus charged security agencies operating in the area on the need to review their strategies so as to proactively avert more blood letting of innocent persons.
He said that the need to adjust the military operations in the region became imperative given the disturbing record of the United Nations UN Coordination of Humanitarian Affair (OCHA) released in Abuja on Monday showing that 22 attacks were carried out against the people in the region in the most troubled states of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa in the last three months.
According to available records , over 120 deaths and over 200 injured in the three months of this year excluding abductions.
Prince Secondus also charged President Muhammadu Buhari and his APC controlled federal government to ensure that the humanitarian situation in the region is not allowed to deteriorate.
“It’s a pity that in this country today human lives means nothing as innocent citizens continue to lose their lives daily with women and children worse hit.
Finally, he appealed to the militants to embrace peace and avoid wasting of human blood which cannot be justified for any reason.
