A member of House of Representative, Funke Adedoyin, has called for collective efforts to end killings of innocent people across Nigeria.

In a statement on Monday in Omu-Aran, Kwara, the lawmaker described the killings as barbaric.

“In Nigeria today, terror seems to be walking tall on our streets while lives of citizens are worthless to some people.

“Governments should ensure that those involved in killings in any part of Nigeria are brought to justice in time.

“We must all come together as people to halt this barbarism,’’ she said in the statement signed by Mr Gbenga Usman, the Coordinator of her constituency office.

Adedoyin, a former Minister of Youth Development and a former Minister of State for Health, represents Ekiti, Irepodun, Isin and Oke-Ero Federal Constituency in Kwara.

She described the recent killings of more than 40 people in Zamfara as absurd, inhuman and unacceptable.

Adedoyin condoled with the government and people of Zamfara over the killings, and urged the three tiers of government to end insecurity.
