The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) in Borno state; has smashed Boko Haram fuel supplies links with the interception of large quantity of petrol along Maiduguri-Mafa road.
The Commandant of Civil Defense Corps, Ibrahim Abdullahi disclosed this Tuesday at a news conference in Maiduguri, while briefing journalists on arrests of six suspects of land scams, livestock rustling and household theft valued over N20 million.
According to him, the supply links was smashed by the patrol team, when it discovered the dumping of fuel in wrapped sacks on roads side; for Boko Haram insurgents pick them up, before dropping money for the supplied fuel.
He said that the suspected scammer; Babakaka Baitu was arrested at the Chad Basin Development Authority (CBDA) staff quarters, for duping 10 customers for plots of land.
His words: “The suspect has masterminded all sorts of forgeries in the state; as regards land documents as grants. The documents contain fake signatures and receipts. The Director of Land and Survey, Babagana Hassan has also confirmed to us that all the documents for the 10
plots were faked by the suspect.
“Unsuspected members of the public, were duped to the amount of over N20 million. He also has cases with so many security agencies and he had been dodging arrest, before he was arrested on November 30, 2017 at CBDA staff quarters.
Abdullahi further disclosed that Zainab Abdullahi; specialized in identifying places of wedding and naming ceremonies in Maiduguri to steal handsets, bags and cash, including foreign curries.
“Zainab operates in the areas of Polo, EYN Church and Tudunwada, behind Borno Express Terminus, Maiduguri,” he warned.
He said the six suspects, including four livestock rustlers, will be charged to court, as the command has completed all preliminary investigations for prosecution.
