A total of sixty-eight thousand, and seventy-nine ( 68,079) eligible voters have so far been registered in Kwara State in the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise which began in April last year.(2017)
The Administrative Secretary of Kwara State Independent National Electoral Commission, (INEC) Mr. Paul Atser made this known at a stakeholders meeting of the Commission.
He expressed disappointment that the collection of the Permanent Voters Card (PVCs) was in its lowest ebb in the state noting that out of two hundred and forty-two thousand, and sixty-nine (242,069) only three thousand and sixty-nine (3,069) PVCs have been collected.”As we speak, (239,000) Permanent Voter Cards are yet to be collected , he maintained “
Mr. Paul also announced that the Commission has approved ten (10) Mobile Registration Centres in the three Senatorial District of the State in the on-going Continuous Voter Registration exercise.
The Mobile Centres include Asa-Alapa, Baruten-Ilesha, Edu-Tsonga, Ifelodun-Igbaja, Ilorin East-Iponrin.
Others are Irepodun-Oro Kaiama-Kemanji, Moro-Shao, Oke-Ero-Igbana and Patigi-Epada.
