UN WOMEN DELEGATION PLEDGES SUPPORT FOR EFCC-CYIAC

The team of EFCC Creative Youth Initiative Against Corruption, CYIAC on November 15, 2017 received a delegation from the United Nations Women Political Participation Unit led by Ms. Anouk Jeanne Heili at its Lekki, Lagos office.
CYIAC is seeking collaboration with UN Women towards achieving sustainable development goals’ 2030 Agenda.
 The Project Director CYIAC,  Foluke Michael, took the delegates through the background, objectives and vision of the Initiative, as she displayed award winning works of participants in the past editions. According to Michael, “the initiative seeks to achieve a culture of integrity and corruption free society through educational development, creative arts, digital technology, information technology and entrepreneurship among children and youth. “We also saw the need to involve women in the project as fundamental stakeholders, because they are critical members of the family unit and, in response to calls made by so many of them for participation,”she said.
While commending the project,  Heili assured of UN’s interest in programmes targetted at gender equality, child development and women empowerment. “This is great, it’s all very exciting..,” Anouk said. She promised to work with the group towards achieving the sustainable goals.
The Creative Youth Initiative, CYIAC, commenced nationwide registration for Creative Challenge to promote global goals on November 15, 2017. The theme for 2018 creative contest is ‘IMAGINE A WORLD FREE FROM CORRUPTION’.
The objective of the challenge is to promote creativity, develop talents and build confidence whilst encouraging culture of integrity amongst children and youth..
All participants are provided with capabilities they require to become economically productive, develop sustainable livelihoods, contribute to peace, justice and strong institutions and take bold steps in creating the future they desire through creativity and innovation.
