Troops of the Nigerian Army Mobile Strike Teams (MSTs) of Operation Lafiya Dole in the Northeast have killed two Boko Haram terrorists in an ambush, while routing out remnants of insurgents in Mayanti village
of Sambisa Forest in Borno state.
During the two-hour exchange of fire, several terrorists sustained gunshot wounds and fled into the Sambisa with the abandonment of food items.
This was disclosed Sunday in Maiduguri in a statement issued to journalists by Lt-Col. Kingsley Samuel, the Deputy Director Army Public Relations of 7 Division.
He said the terrorists were killed on Friday night, while attempting to cross into Sambisa Forest from Mayanti village in Bama Local Government Area of Borno.
According to Samuel; “The troops sprung to ambush on the terrorists and neutralized two; while several others escaped with gunshot wounds. The troops also recovered two bags of maize from the ambush.”
He said the MSTs, which was launched by the Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen Tukur Buratai; has been a “potent deadly mobile lethal force” engaging and neutralizing the terrorists in several staging areas of Northeast.
