The schools’ fees review, according to Buratai, was to ease the financial burden faced of parents and guardians.
Spokesman of the military, Brig-Gen Sani Usman disclosed this on Monday in a statement issued to journalists in Maiduguri.
“This is to ease the financial problems faced by the army personnel in the education of their children and wards,” said Usman in the statement.
He said the reduction of school fees in the command schools, could go a long way in boosting the morale of troops; while carrying out the task of fighting Boko Haram insurgency and terrorism.
According to Buratai; “The performance of troops in assigned tasks can only be complemented by sustainable welfare programme. Consequently, some welfare initiatives have been introduced by in order to boost
troops morale in the army.” He said the initiatives include; affordable quality education to children and wards of military officers, soldiers and selected civilians in the Command Secondary and Primary Schools.
