BURATAI COMMISSIONS 25 BLOCKS OF HOUSING, OFFICE ACCOMMODATION TO BOOST TROOPS’ MORALE

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Tukur Buratai has commissioned 25 blocks of housing and office accommodation, and hospital to boos troops’ morale, while fighting Boko Haram insurgency and terrorism in the Northeast sub-region of the country.


The housing units and 20-bed hospital were built and completed last July by the Nigerian Army engineers through direct labour. Buratai disclosed this on Tuesday, while addressing officers, soldiers and their family members at the Maimalari Cantonment, Maiduguri.
He said the completion of the housing units for 163 personnel, will not only boost troops’ morale, but address acute shortages of accommodation in the army.
His words: “This commissioning is in line with my vision towards addressing acute shortages of accommodation in the army in order to boost the morale of troops; as they strive to conclude the task of
eliminating the remnants of the Boko Haram terrorists. And indeed; other security challenges under Operation Lafiya Dole.”

He said the housing and office accommodation projects; are to provide decent accommodation for officers and soldiers; as well conducive office environment to execute their tasks efficiently in the
frontlines.
Buratai also appreciated the visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to Maiduguri last Sunday, as it has rekindled the wills of troops fighting Boko Haram insurgency in the northeast.


“We want to assure you that we will do our utmost best to make sure that we finally stabilize the Northeast in terms of security,” he said.
He said that the troops are more than ever before committed and continue to remain loyal in discharge of their responsibilities to the nation, He also reassured the troops of the unflinching support of President
Buhari. “It is a great responsibility that has been bestowed on us,” said Buratai.

He urged the troops to make judicious use of the housing and office accommodation, while they remained focused in their task to consolidate the recorded achievements at the Theatre Command and
frontlines.
He said the army will continue to provide troops the requisite welfare and logistics for efficiency, while discharging their constitution responsibilities.
