The Chadian Minister of Defence, Lt-Gen Bichara Issa Djadallah has
assured the Force Commander of Multi-National Joint Task Force
(MNJTF), Maj-Gen Lucky Irabor of Chad’s support in the ongoing Boko Haram insurgency and terrorism in the Lake Chad region.
The assurance was made on Tuesday, when the MNJTF commander visited the Minister of Defence at Ndjamena, the Chadian capital.
This was disclosed by MNJTF military public information officer, Col.
Mustapha Anka in a statement issued to journalists in Maiduguri.
Irabor, according to Anka, briefed the defence minister on the current
activities, achievements and operation future plans of task force on
counter-terrorism and insurgency in the Lake Chad region.
“His Excellency, Idris Deby, the Chadian Armed Forces, Security
agencies and the good people of Chad have supported MNJTF operations in the region since 2015,” said Anka in the statement.
