The National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji
Mai Mala Buni has yesterday described President Muhammadu Buhari’s
nation-wide broadcast to Nigerians as; “a resolute firm stand on
national unity and peace.”

Buni made the remarks, in Damaturu, the Yobe state capital on Monday,
while commenting on the President’s morning broadcast to the nation.

He said the five-minute broadcast captured the true position of
majority of the citizens in the country.
His words: “I am sure; many Nigerians are satisfied with the firm
stance taken by the president.

“It has given Nigerians a sense of security and belonging to reside
and carry out their legitimate business in any part of the country.”
Mai Mala also commended the President for saying it without ambiguity
that the call for secession, restructuring and other forms of
agitations with negative consequences on the corporate unity of
Nigeria was diversionary.

“As democrats, we should appreciate the fact that the national
assembly and National Council of state are the two legitimate bodies
for national discourse and anything outside this is illegitimate and
unconstitutional,” he said.

The Secretary described the broadcast as a patriotic call to national
unity urging Nigerians to rally round the President in moving the
country forward among the comity of nations.
He called on all Nigerians to support the Buhari administration in its
commitment to build a “safe, strong and economically” viable country.
Buni appealed to Nigerians to pray for more improvement in his health
and strength, so as to serve the country better.
