CENGSSUD Launches Corporate Sustainability Masterclass for Private Sector & Others.

In the fulfillment of our mandate towards creating sustainable solutions and advancing a practical and workable path to sustainable world and future, we are proud to announce the launch of a new advanced specialized career path, “Corporate Sustainability Masterclass”. The program is organized by Centre for Global Solutions and Sustainable development (CENGSSUD), which will be held at LCCI Conference and Exhibition Centre, Alausa, Ikeja Lagos. From 5th -6th, April 2017.

Corporate Sustainability has now become a core requirement for business across industries and sectors. Companies that strategically innovate and integrate sustainability into core operations will be minimizing negative impacts and maximizing positive impacts on people, planet and also be the market leaders of tomorrow. Corporate Sustainability if well integrated into business strategies, will help companies create competitive advantage, shareholders value, work more effectively, reduce costs, maximize profit, conserve resources, mitigate environmental harm, build customers loyalty, build investors’ confidence, enhance image reputation & brand recognition, attract millennia employees’ thereby increasing productivity etc.

To maintain these high standards, organizations need personnel with solid sustainability and environmental management training – and that’s exactly what this new program offers.”
The Corporate Sustainability Masterclass is therefore essential for “Green Team” members, Company’s Directors, HODs, Company Managers, CSR Practitioners, Public Relations Managers, Marketing Managers, Human Resources Managers, Employees, and Workers who are responsible for: Corporate Social Responsibility, Corporate Affairs, Environmental Affairs, Supply Chain/Logistics, Health & Safety, Governance & Risk Management, Marketing/Communications/PR, also from cross-industries, NGOs, Governments, International organizations, Civil Society and academics interested in Sustainability and CSRs, as well as individuals who wish to advance into such positions.

Participants will learn essential business strategies, including how to: improving energy efficiency using the latest techniques, tools and technology, applying sustainability principles, frameworks and tools for business, develop a strategic plan for sustainability, leverage sustainability for favourable financing and stability, align corporate social responsibility with sustainability goals, achieve greater innovation and bottom-line results, and also reporting on sustainability activities.

The Masterclass will be delivered by 7 powerful, distinguished and experienced Faculty from cross-sector industries. The Faculty members include:
Professor Olanrewaju Olaniyan, who is a Professor of Economics & the Director, Centre for Sustainable Development, University of Ibadan, he will be delivering on the Economic sustainability and how business can succeed in the face of new economic challenges like recession, inflation, rising poverty level, high exchange rates etc.

The second Faculty is Mrs. Onyeche Tifase, the MD/CEO, Siemens Nigeria. Siemens today attains the No.1 spot as the most sustainable Company in the world, 2017, according to Corporate Knights results for the 2017 Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World index. In view of this laudable and outstanding achievement by Siemens towards playing the leading role in sustainability practice in the world, we now confirm the participation of the MD/CEO of Siemens Nigeria, who will be sharing robust perspectives on the magical sustainability approach by Siemens, what is Siemens doing differently, creating business case for other businesses in Nigeria, Change management towards sustainability etc.
Onyeche Tifase is an experienced Engineering Professional with extensive experience in the power, engineering, and consulting industries. She graduated with a BEng (Hons) in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from the University of Nottingham and completed her Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cambridge.

The third Faculty is Dr. Olajumoke Akiode, the Executive Director, Centre for Ethics and Sustainable Development, She holds a Doctorate Degree in Applied Ethic from the University of Lagos. She will be delivering on Business Ethics, Code of Conducts and Responsible business. The 10 principles of the UN Global Compact are all resting on Ethics and the concept “Corporate Sustainability and Responsibility” have their roots in Ethics, so having one of the best brains in Ethics is a win-win situation for all.

The fourth Faculty is Mr. Anthony Akpan who is the President, Pan African Vision for the Environment (PAVE), a foremost environmentalist with over 15 years’ experience working on water governance, Climate change, Clean & renewable Energy, environmental sustainability, Stakeholder Engagement, etc. He will deliver on Environmental Sustainability and other related modules.

The fifth faculty is Abosede George-Ogan, she is the Director, Strategy, Funding and Stakeholder Management. Lagos State Employment Trust Fund, she is an expert of Sustainability/CSR, a trainer, consultant and an emerging tri-sector leader with over 12 years’ experience, she has lead the CSR department in Bank PHP, First Bank and more recently Samsung. She will deliver on: Adopting a CRS strategy that has a 360-degree impact on improving the social, environment and economic sustainability.

The sixth is Adiya Atuluku, a Management & Sustainability Consultant, Assistant Manager, Strategy & Operations, Deloitte West Africa. She is the co-author of a sustainability e-book titled: A Guide to Business Sustainability in Nigeria and also the Author of another publication: Snapshot to Business Sustainability in Nigeria. She will deliver on: Sustainability integration and related global guidelines and standards.

The seventh & Last Faculty is Debo Adeniyi, the Executive Director/ Sustainability Leader, Centre for Global Solutions and Sustainable Development, and also the MD/CEO, Debscom Technolgy Ltd. He has extensive experience and expertise working on Corporate Sustainability, Responsible Business, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), International Law, Diplomacy, International Development, Foreign Policy, Policy Development and Analysis, International peace & Security, Global Governance, International Human rights, etc. He will be delivering on Current Global and Local Legislation for Sustainability; Sustainability reporting based on GRI, and also private sector policies etc. He holds a master’s degree in International Law and Diplomacy, from the University of Lagos.

Registration is now open for the Corporate Sustainability Masterclass. Upon completion of this 2-day program, participants will receive a framed certificate from the CENGSSUD Sustainability Centre.
