Football loving subscribers who have been thronging football betting outfit to predict games and win, now have an opportunity to also do that at the comfort of their homes with their phones if a new product from Globacom is anything to go by.
The first indigenous mobile network product, recently launched a new football prediction product named ‘ Glo Korrect Predict’.

An insight into the new product revealed that, any football lover on Glo network who successfully predicts the final scores of football matches played in major leagues across Europe, will win cash prizes and free airtime.

According to Globacom, subscribers will receive two football matches daily for them to predict the correct scores of their preferred matches.
To subscribe to the product, subscribers are to either dial USSD command 7023# to the short code *7023 to subscribe to the daily plan with a cost of N50. Another option for those that want a weekly plan, they are expected to send the keyword * KPW* to the short code * 7023* to subscribe to the weekly plan for N150.

The network provider further explained that, upon successful subscription, the user will receive an SMS with a link to access the service.
For new subscribers that are interested in partaking, Glo says they can activate the service at no cost for the first 24 hours after which they will be charged on the next renewal cycle.
For subscribers who do not want to be charged after the free ‘ trial and buy offer’s will have to cancel their service renewal before the 24 hours elapse by dialling the USSD Command for deactivation.

The Glo Korrect score product which can be accessed by all subscribers will provide a window for two daily matches prediction on matches across the European major leagues like, English Premiership, Spanish Laliga, Italian Serie A, French Ligue 1, German Bundesliga and Portuguese Primera Liga.
The network provider noted that it is motivated to join the trend given the prevailing growth of sports prediction market over the years with value worth over 155 billion dollars globally by this year.

In Nigeria, sport prediction outlets like Bet9ja and Betking among others, have become the haven for youths, subsuming the agelong pools ( Coupon) which is still patronised by the elderly.
Globacom which is owned by Mike Adenuga, is noted for sports sponsorship in Nigeria, notably the Nigeria Premier Football League and the Federation Cup.
The network provider has also over the years co- sponsored the CAF Awards.
