Two died as Nigerian Customs Service Distributes confiscated Bags of Rice in Lagos

Two civilians were confirmed dead subsequent to the distribution of confiscated rice by operatives of the Nigerian Customs Service in the Yaba Area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.

An eyewitness reported that the process commenced smoothly but quickly escalated into a chaotic scene due to the overwhelming crowd.

In the midst of the turmoil, one individual lost their life and was promptly taken to Harvey General Hospital, where they were pronounced dead, casting a pall over what initially appeared to be a routine distribution.

Another casualty, a pregnant woman, required urgent medical attention due to the overcrowding.
