N585m scam: Tinubu used me to warn Betta Edu, others — Ex-DG

Date:

A former Director-General of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms, Dr. Joe Abah, has revealed that President Bola Tinubu warned the likes of the suspended Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betta Edu, over falling victims of lurking fraud.

The former DG made this known in a post on X, while reacting to an opinion article by ex-Minister Osita Chidoka.

In the opinion on the N585 million scandal rocking Edu, Chidoka, a former Minister of Aviation, said there were lapses in the training given to the new Ministers.

He said it was such a gap that was exploited by the civil servants around the suspended Minister.

The opinion article, with the titled: “The Betta Edu saga reveals deep systemic issues, by Osita Chidoka,”.

But replying to Chidoka, Abah tweeted: “No o, Honourable Minister @osita_chidoka.

“We told them everything at the retreat o.

“I moderated the whole of the first day and Mr President got a message across to me not to rush the sessions.

“We told them everything and didn’t finish until 8pm.”

An X user, Max Obesi, tweeting at: @IamMaxObesi, however, said sometimes it is not the fault of the civil servants for not speaking up.
